Okay this blog post is supposed to be funny, but mainly the truth based upon what I have observed in Rexburg while living at BYU - Idaho. I say Rexburg, and not the LDS community, because it doesn't apply to everybody in the LDS community.
Here it goes. You know if you live in Rexburg:
1. If you go to class and there is a returned missionary in every classroom.
2. If you go to class where professors are called by Brother/Sister.
3. If you go to city council meetings and the topics are mainly about the university.
4. If the police's main business are the concerns of the university.
5. If 80% of the population are mainly the students who reside there at Rexburg.
6. If the university's curriculum has religion courses integrated into the school curriculm.
7. If the university is the one providing mainly the performing arts entertainment.
8. If you a football field, but no major intercollegiate athletics.

11. If your friends date between the period of weeks and months only to get engaged after they have dated.
12. Where the student has a split faction of people who want to marry and people who decide to receive their education.
13. Where a quarter of the students are married!
14. When the university consists of both associates and bachelors degrees.
15. When the university's emphais is mainly marriage.
16. When the apartments are monitored by the university, because of the Honor Code.
17. When the university has student wards.
18. When the university doesn't allow flip flops, shorts and outlandish hairstyles. This is all due to the Honor Code and Dress and Grooming Standards.
19. When the university has devotionals every Tuesday for an hour!
20. When the president of the university is also a general authority, because he is part of the seventy.
21. Where the main activities include watching movies, playing video games, going to bonfires and doing wanna-be college parties. I say wanna-be college parties, because we don't have any alcohol at our parties.
22. Where there are only three banks which include: Keybank, US Bank and Wells Fargo.
23. When you have FHE every Monday.
24. When there is a temple at the top of the hillside.
25. When PDA becomes overly excessive.
26. When you have an engaged roommate.
27. When the "biggest" news is someone becoming engaged. It really isn't news here in Rexburg.
28. When you know what these terms mean. Scroll, The Craze, Cocoa Bean, The Rex, Big Jud's, FHE, PDA, RS, Devo, Great and Spacious building, DI, I-News and TusKanky mean.
29. Where the student body consists of 1% non-members.
30. Where you can't triple major, because of university policy to allow more students into the university.
31. Where the most popular tracks are the Spring and Fall semesters.
32. When the university has a track system.
33. Where the university is adhered as the sister school of the university.
34. Where you will be expelled when a person fornicates out of wedlock.
35. When church attendance is mandatory.
36. When most of the housing is NOT coed housing.
37. When you know which apartment buildings to avoid, because of their reputations being called names such as Great and Spacious building and TusKanky.
38. Where everybody seems to know your name.
39. When the approved student housing, you don't have to pay utilities.
40. When there are only two libraries in the city.
41. When the tuition for a private university is LOWER than almost any private university in the country.
42. When class attendance is mandatory.
43. When you ask out a woman, they automatically think that a guy is thinking about marriage.
44. When the bishop in the student ward serves only a period of three years.
45. When mainly the community is LDS.
46. When the favorite hang out spots include: Twizzleberry, Cocoa Bean, The Rex, The Dunes, Beaver Dick, The Craze, Paramount Twin, Great Harvest, Ramirez and your apartment.
47. When Kirby Heyborne and various apostles visits often.
48. Where you see a church on almost every corner.
49. Where there are more than 8 stakes in one city.
50. When the community is called, "America's Family Community."

winter semester/Rexburg life
Okay,
So I have learned some valuable lessons this semester and I am glad that my professors were understanding enough to be able to let me pass my classes.
I hope that time will soon come that I just have fun with life. I am so thirsty for life right that I want to be able to drink every inch of the drop that I know what it means to see the different sights and sounds that are around me. I am grateful for God and His watchful eye over me. I pray that I continue to be able to keep the focus that I need to continue on with life!
